I upgraded to the windows vista 64bit edition. I use a gateway mx7515 notebook, and after the upgrade it is not detecting a sound card. I've gone to the gateway website and they only support xp, any ideas?

Gateway mx7515 audio not working
Have you checked the manufacturers website or contacted them regarding drivers for your device, or whether they'll support Vista in the near future? You can report this to Microsoft via here: http://www.vistabase.co.uk/welcome.php?bugreport

Gateway told me months ago they would not support VISTA. I ran the compatibility test; no modem driver was only listed conflict. I installed VISTA Beta 2 and Office 2007 Beta. I have no audio; speaker, jack or usb headphone. I spent two days checking web sites and chat rooms. XP 64 has known audio problems (see chat rooms) going back almost two years. Planet AMD64 had link to site with driver designed for us (AMD64). It was hijacked last week. They emailed 13 June and stated site whould be back up 14 June.
Geeks ran a scan on my computer and listed another ATI chip on the motherboard. I contacted them 13 June and am waiting for reply. They MIGHT. have made our audio control
Gateway will not get another nickle from me. But I will gladly waste several hours telling everyone of their non support and refusal to give info on motherboard and chips.
If planet amd64 does have the driver I will post a notice.
